The International Renewable Energy Certificate (I-REC) standard allows renewable energy projects around the world to issue and trade energy certificates. Our calculator uses dynamic market pricing to help you estimate the potential value of your renewable energy generation based on technology, capacity, and current market conditions. The grid emission factor for each country is also used to calculate the approximate CO₂ avoided.
How to use the I‑RECs Calculator
- Select the Country of your project. If it's not listed, you can select "Other".
- Enter the plant capacity (MW).
- Select the Technology (Solar, Wind, Hydro, etc.). The capacity factor is automatically applied.
- Select the Plant Age (Under 15 Years or Above 15 Years).
- The current I‑REC market price will be fetched automatically. If unavailable, enter your estimated price manually.
- Click “Calculate” – the results show I‑RECs, estimated value, and CO₂ avoided.
- Copy the result or adjust inputs to explore scenarios.
